Pearson College 2010-2

The compulsion to document – properly – my UWC journey struck mercilessly two weeks before my pre-university summer ended, and I am helpless in the face of it (as well as the prospect of two idle weeks), so this is the result.

It is a labour of love in that sense, but I do hope it will prove useful to potential UWC applicants as well as their bemused parents, current students and their harried parents, and most of all, alumni wishing to relive a halcyon dream. On a more personal level, I seek closure, strength and inspiration for the next epic adventure in my life; the return to all the photos and my old, artless blog posts has been – and will continue to be – a very nostalgic and breathtaking one, so hopefully they will inspire similar sentiments in others, though the associated memories will, of course, be dramatically different. For the friends who came before Pearson and the friends who will come after Pearson, too, this will hopefully also be a stylized glimpse of those two years of my trek through life.

Unfortunately, due to a grave lack of foresight, all of these posts are written in retrospect and thus lose a fair amount of the easy sincerity that spontaneity creates. The photos, however, were taken then, and are all my own unless otherwise stated.

While intended to be informative, this is not an official, sanctioned guide to Pearson life and philosophy, and this wordpress, while public, is still very much a personal one. I aspire to truth, but subjectivity is inevitable, and I don’t intend to shy away from or apologize for it.

Comments are always, always welcome.

Edited: This has clearly not been finished before I’m at university, and now I’m not sure when, if ever, it will be, but if you’re interested to know more, just comment and I’ll get in touch with you!
